Marc Crawford understands the weight of the Stars’ situation, but the head coach continues to speak in a calm voice and make decisions that are based on what he believes is best for team preparation.
“I’ve been through this before, and I know that you can’t panic, that’s not the right response,” Crawford said after his team went through an optional practice and some film work Sunday. “This was a good time for us to get some rest, to refocus and reenergize, and I think that will show going forward.”
The Stars are on the edge of disaster as they have been outscored 17-5 in the three games back from Olympic break and are facing the NHL’s most explosive offensive team, the Washington Capitals, tonight at Verizon Center. Dallas is quickly drifting out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference and must start to show signs of life.
